About 7ucky

7UCKY is a musician from East London, who sat down with inside success to share his story. His interest for music came from his older brother who used to be a musician. At 15 he would take his older brother lyrics to school and perform them for his friends, and from there he was motivated to create his own. At 16 he went on to release his first song. As part of his work experience, he spent his 2 weeks in a studio with his older brother really grasping the basic steps of the music industry and how it works. Being surrounded by such creative energy influenced him so much he kept on going to adjust himself and get working. From there he never stopped, and expanded onto traveling and networking. Through this career he has met a range of artist such as Chipmunk , The Saturdays , Little Mix, Wretch 32, Skepta, Tim Westwood and Ashley Walter. At the age of 17 he took a brave step by leaving home. This increased his drive and motivation, as he saw it as a necessity to achieve his dream. From there he met a guy who is well experienced in the music industry and has worked with influential people such as Jay Z and Beyonce. He worked with him for 2 years, going touring and even getting a job opportunity to work in Glasgow. It was through these early experiences he gained more passion in music. But like every successful person he went through a rough patch. He went through a period of time where he struggled with drug misuse. Despite being in a dark place for 8 years, he remained consistent with his music career, because it was the only thing that allowed him to control his emotions. However, he realized that he is the only person that can help him, so he got himself into rehab to get clean. And then, his final breakthrough was his 9 months visit to his country Nigeria where he finalized his recovery journey. One of his greatest accomplishments has been his consistency. Even through his dark times he never gave up, fighting for his survival. This accomplishment led to his next greatest accomplishment: being on tv for his music career. One of his biggest motivators is the emotional impact his music has on others. Knowing his music brings other joy, laughter and inspiration fuels up his drive. Knowing his art has helped people connect to their emotions at certain levels keeps him going. His advice to all young people pursuing a music career is to stop being scared to fail and stop making excuses. Failure is a necessity so instead of using it as an excuse to procrastinate or even quit, let it motivate you to educate and improve yourself. In conclusion 7UCKY finished off our interview with this piece of advice: “Don’t be scared to fail, keep going. Allow the excuses and be consistent. After that everything will fall into place.”
